2011-2012 STATE OFFICER BIOGRAPHIES
Caprecia Singleton, State Secretary
Caprecia Singleton is excited to be a part of the 2011-2012 Nevada DECA Officer Team, serving as the State Secretary. She is filled with creative ideas to expand our DECA community while making unity a priority and is eager to work with Nevada DECA’s chapter members to advance the organization.
Caprecia first became interested in business in 8th grade after being introduced to her friend’s grandfather whom owns a construction company. Ever since that moment, she has wanted to operate an independent business that benefits society. Caprecia is a student at Legacy High School where she is on track to graduate in 2013. After that, she aspires to open a private practice in medical sonography (ultrasound).
Caprecia has been involved in Student Council and the National Honor Society. Outside of school, she has been an assistant coach for a youth leadership track and field team. She is also an active member of the Bethesda Church of God in Christ praise dance team, youth choir, and purity group. She spends much of her free time baking, spending time with friends, playing volleyball and preparing speeches for upcoming DECA events.
Caprecia is excited to meet and interact with members of not only Nevada DECA but across the country. She lives her life by one quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” Caprecia looks forward to leaving a trail of success this year in Nevada DECA.

Victoria Cana, Vice President of Publicity
Victoria Cana is honored to represent and serve as Nevada DECA’s 2011-2012 Vice President of Publicity. She would like to thank all of the members for their support and promises to work hard to ensure that the upcoming year will be successful and full of unprecedented achievement.
Victoria enrolled in the Hospitality and Tourism program at Southwest Career and Technical Academy because she loves to travel and is interested in different cultures. She was recruited into DECA as a sophomore and has been actively involved ever since, working her way up from a member, to SWCTA DECA’s president, to Nevada DECA’s Vice President of Publicity. Victoria’s mission is for Nevada DECA to have a larger, more-acknowledged presence in the state by more effectively utilizing the variety of networking opportunities at hand.
In addition to DECA, Victoria is a student ambassador, a member of KEY Club and National Honor Society, a hostess for her school's hospitality program, and participates in various community service initiatives. She loves writing, improving herself, helping others, exceeding expectations, and expanding her network. Although Victoria constantly changes her mind about what university she wants to attend, she knows she wants to double-major in Business and Communications. Even though her schedule is usually packed, Victoria always finds time to hang out with her loved ones, laugh, and just have fun.
She lives by the quote “Don’t aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.” Although Victoria’s interests vary from Management to Public Relations to Creative Writing, Victoria believes that if you want it all you can have it all if you’re willing to work hard.
